Wash before sewing to allow for shrinkage and fading.

Washing

  • Machine wash cold or warm water – 30°C -40°C to prevent shrinking and fading.
  • Use gentle cycle for lightweight cottons, standard wash is fine for craft and quilting cottons.
  • Wash with similar colours to avoid colour transfer.

Detergent

  • Use mild detergent.
  • Avoid harsh bleach unless fabric is plain white cotton.

Drying

  • Air dry where possible to avoid shrinkage and to extend the product's life.
  • If tumble drying, use low heat and remove promptly to avoid wrinkles.

Ironing

  • Medium to high heat or the cotton setting.
  • Best ironed with steam or slightly damp still for a crisp finish.

Drying

  • Do not wring or twist – this can distort fabric
  • Lay flat or hang to air dry away from direct sunlight, to prevent fading or yellowing.

  • Iron inside out to protect the surface
